Ah, to be home again. Churchwide Assembly was awesome and exhausting. As I shared in worship at Peace-Pendleton about the CWA and some of the things we discussed, debated, discerned and voted on, the sense of hope I had experienced in Orlando welled up again.

The good news has been proclaimed in the wildest places, here at CWA. From the Secretary of the ELCA, David Swartling, we heard some of the hard facts of those who chose to disaffiliate with us. Then he spoke of all the hopeful things going on. David even shared his enthusiasm for the Constitution, By-Laws & Continuing Resolutions of the ELCA & gave witness to it being a missional document. I heard him talk that way at the 2010 Oregon Synod Assembly, but had forgotten.
