West Linn Confirmation Conversations
This is a blog for confirmation students at West Linn Lutheran Church. I want you to respond to the questions I raise and engage each other right here.
The outline of each week's class will be posted as a document - and I encourage you to download the document for your use at home. I will be meeting with parents this Sunday the 18th to discuss this further.

Week One: Creation
Next week i will have some posts for you to respond to. In the meantime, If you want tell what you think about the creation story. Let's get the discussion going.
Further Questions
Is the creation story just a story or is it true? Can we as Christians believe in creation and evolution?
Either/or?!?
Interesting how we boil the power of God down to an either or question between creation and evolution - as if God can only do one way or the other. What if both are true - both evolution and creation? In other words, can God create through an evolutionary process; and, can God create as if one exists?
Creation story
The whole thing about not taking responsibility is so classic, and so personal (she tempted me! the serpent seduced me!) I have a tendency to want to play the blame game, instead of looking at my culpability.
from Christopher Winjum
It is the beginning of the school year, and this years confirmation classes have also begun. This sunday we discussed gripping topics such as the difference of knowing vs. believing. Another thing we talked about was how God, in the Bible is the embodiment of light and how evil is associated to darkness because darkness is the absence of light (A.K.A. God)
Knowing vs. Believing
Excellent summary, Chris! Here is a question for everyone. What then is the difference between knowing and believing? I would love to hear other thoughts on this one?
